Our Principal

Meredith C. Arledge

Dear Olde Providence Families:
With great pride and enthusiasm, I write this letter of introduction as the
newly appointed Principal of Olde Providence Elementary. It is an honor to lead
with your rich traditions, a strong community, and an unparalleled commitment to the education of our,
much deserving, students.
My transition into this position comes after spending 20 years in education. My roles have
included kindergarten and first grade teacher, K-5 academic facilitator, and assistant principal for nine
years. I hold an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University, a
Masters in Reading Education K-12 from UNCC, and a school leadership degree from Queens University.
As a Charlotte native and now raising my family here, it excites me to not only lead our school
but to have my own children be a part of the OPE family. My husband of six years, Nathan, is a pastor at
Myers Park United Methodist. We have two children, Carter, a rising Kindergartener and Camryn, who
will attend PreK in the fall. Our family enjoys playing outside, reading, and exploring and you will
occasionally find me enjoying a good book, running, or attending an exercise class.
I look forward to working with you as our school continues to celebrate many successes, and I
welcome your conversations and input along the way. I recognize the impact strong connections between
home and school have on a child’s success in school and in life and I am excited to lead this journey with
you.
Lastly, I am grateful for this opportunity and cannot wait to meet each of you. I look forward to
to working with Ms. Bever, our staff, families, and the community to ensure ALL students at Olde
Providence are successful!
With Gratitude,
Meredith (Molly) Arledge
